American artist Jeremy Keane refuses to return home and take over his father’s business. He’d much rather sample bevvies of beauties abroad, in search of a model for the provocative masterpiece he’s driven to paint. When he meets Lady Yvette Barlow at a London wedding, he realizes she’s perfect for his work—and determines to capture the young heiress’s defiant spirit and breathtaking sensuality on canvas. No stranger to scandal, Yvette agrees to be Keane’s subject—in exchange for his help gaining entry to the city’s brothels he knows intimately, so she can track a missing woman and solve a family mystery. But when their practical partnership leads to lessons in the art of sinning, can they find a bold and lasting love?

Review:

For the ladies, The Art of Sinning was great primarily because of the characters. They fell in love with both Jeremy and Yvette almost from the get go. One reader really loved that Yvette was both historically accurate – in that she was very dependent on the men in her life – but also very independent – in that she did all she could to manipulate those men to her ends. They also liked the change up of an American Male/English Female as leads. Usually if Americans are in the mix it is in the female role.

This story made us laugh (thanks to the club and slang dictionary), cry, and really cheer at the end. The side characters (men who must get stories) made them laugh too. Their poor club (and you must read if just for that alone) is doomed. If not for any other reason than all the men that are going to fall for the women they are protecting are members (or at least they better be–will make it fun)! Really great story and characters. Ladies can’t wait for book 2!
